When using a WYSIWYG editor you can switch to view the page's source. Would Ace HTML editor ever work with that, or does it have to be associated with a separate input format?

I'm sorry, but I don't get what you mean. When editing with the editor, aren't you seeing the source code the whole time?

technically as it is now it is better as only a selection, because you can switch between input types and either input will effect the content that has been added but i think there could be advantages to adding it a text editor.

So basically selecting ace is like selecting "view plain text editor" + all the ace stuff.

Oooh, I see what you mean. That's a brilliant idea! I quess I could look into that when I get the time. Seems like some work ;)

Thanks, I think it may be impossible though. I've never heard of anyone else trying something like this. The alternate would be instead of using the built in "Source" button to toggle from WYSIWYG to source, you would provide an editor button that when clicked would load the Ace editor.

+1! I would LOVE this feature and would be happy to help with implementation, nylin.

Hey guys. I'm so sorry but I have no time for module development at this time, but I'd love to make you co-maintainer derek, what do you think about that?

I am afraid that WYSWYG behaviour is not intended in this editor by no means, sorry.
