I have enabled Anonymous comments with captcha but just noticed that people(may be bots as well) can still spam my site. How can I stop this ? I tried akismet but it brings the links to again, Moderation queue which I don't want.

I just want either the user(in this case anonymous) can not put live links or has a limit of posting 5 comments in an hour or something like this. Any suggestions ?

I had the same problem on a site whereby bots seemed to be bypassing captcha but did have a slightly older version. Make sure you have the latest version of the captcha module and maybe experiment with text image to generate a few letters rather than the mathematical question. (you may need to visit site.com/update.php) if these newer modules have database changes too.

If this is still a persistent problem you could also consider the bad behaviour module or akismet
