So, have done a thorough search but seems somehow no one has posed this question yet. Anyway, after install, I decided I didn't want weight module anymore. BUT weight module is locked and I:

  • Cannot disable module
  • Cannot delete Weight from Content Type
  • Cannot uninstall Weight due to the previous two

If there's any help or guidance anyone can provide to this, please help... thanks.

On the modules page, are there any dependencies listed for Weight? It sounds like you might be using the 7.x-2.x version, can you confirm which version you have?

Hello yes, I have 7.x-2.x version installed. There were no module dependencies listed though. Also, does not explain for behavior concerning trying to delete Weight from a content type.

My hunch is that the Weight field is not being properly removed. I'll look into this.

I have added the ability to remove all instances of the weight field, which is what's prevented you from disabling the module. You can find this at www.example.com/admin/config/content/weight.
