Issue Summary
I have downloaded and installed Dynamic Display Block and as well also downloaded Drupal 7 themes from here http://ddblock.myalbums.biz/sites/all/modules/pubdlcnt/pubdlcnt.php?file...
And I have unpacked it in the folder sites/all/themes/tma/ where it creates a folder with the name custom that have content modules/ddblock and multiple themefiles.
Then I go to my block to choose a theme for the ddblock, but it shows up no where there, I see only all the other settings and nothing else.
And I have read your tutorial and 10 step guide.

Probably you followed the Drupal 7 - Basic slideshow tutorial. The basic options of the ddblock module don't use templates. Only the advanced options use slideshow templates. see Drupal 7 - Advanced slideshow tutorial.
Hope this helps you further, please let me know.

I have followed the advanced also, but didn't do the part with making new content type for images, I rather prefare to have the images in a folder directly in the file system for this purpose.

Hi,
I have exactly the same situation. I did all the advanced slideshow tutorial steps (more than once on different themes and sites):
- I placed the custom folder in my default theme withing sites/all/themes/[MYDEFAULTTHEME/
- I cleared cache
But nowhere in the block settings of my ddblock I see the possibility to choose a template? I see in this tutorial it should be on the Block-settings: http://www.ssjdesigns.com/tutorials/tutorial/drupal-ddblock-custom-themes
But I do not see it!
I can give you site-access if you want?
Thanks a lot for your reply in advance!
Greetings Martijn

Are you looking at the block settings for the first ddblock you create or the instance. Ive found that the template settings only show on the instance block settings page

Hi,
I didn't make an instance of it. Is this necessary please?
The Block itself works without making it an instance. Are there disadvantages of making it a instance?

For the basic option of the ddblock module using a folder with images you just create a ddblock from the ddblock configuration page.
For the advanced option you need to make an instance of a views block display.

Hi, I will test this.
It would be great if this would be documented somewhere. Or may be it is documented and I didn't see it.
Than sorry for bringing this up.

Hi,
I tested this...but still have an issue. I am trying to make an instance of my just created ddblock block.
But when I look at /admin/structure/ddblock/settings I can't add my block to the selection (it is not shown). So I can't make an instance of it? Only from a views block display, not a normal block?
Shouldn't normal blocks also be possible?
Greetings,
Martijn

For making blocks and content types available on the instance configuration page, they have to be made available by checking them on the settings tab page of the ddblock configuration pages.
Only views block displays will work for drupal 7.

Hi, ok. So views block displays is the way to go. Any roadmap that DDBlock blocks without views will be supported in D7?
