I apologize if this is a duplicate but I searched and cannot find a solution.

I have two issues but first I want to explain how I use FBSS

First thing is I use FBSS statuses to communicate with my members so I am the only one posting a status (see image 1). I have enabled comments on each status post so that if they want to ask questions or discuss my post with other members they can. The main theme of of my issue is that I simply cannot get FBSS to work with my activity feed 6.x-2.0-alpha1 (image 2) and there is so much activity on my site during the day that having new information seen in the activity feed is key so members knowing something new has been posted.

The first issue is probably the easiest to resolve and I am probably just missing something simple. Within the FBSS module I enabled comments and activity so that when I go to my Activity Publisher Templates and choose to create a new one I see the option under Available Activity Types: to create a new activity feed for both Fbss comments and Facebook status, however, when I go through the steps and create a public message using the available tokens I cannot get a message to show in the activity feed (image 2).

My second issue is a piggyback on the first. As you can see in image 2 when an activity gets posted in my feed block I link to both the user who posted/commented and to the node they posted or commented on. My question here is since the FBSS post is not a node with a title how will the feed look. In other words If a members posts something in the forum my feed block will indicate that "Fred" posted "I like this" in the members forum with links to both Fred's profile page as well as a link to the thread he started. Will there be a way (assuming I can get issue 1 under control) to identify the subject of the post or will it only simply read "Fred" posted "statuses/112" in the xyz.

I hope my second issue makes sense and has you can see since I have not resolved the first issue and I do not have activity feed working for FBSS I guess I really don't know how it will show in activity feed block

Okay first of all if you're only using FBSS to post announcements you should probably just be using nodes instead and that would take care of your problem.

About your first issue: I haven't used the Activity module in a year or so but IIRC since you are the one that posted a status you wouldn't see it in your activity feed if you only filled in the "public" field in the template. "Public" in this case means "not the sender or recipient." So probably if you log in as someone else you will see the activity message.

You can make the activity message about status updates look however you want using tokens. There is a "themed" token that will make statuses use the default theming (from /templates/facebook-status-item.tpl.php) too.

Thanks for replying and yes I am aware that I am not necessarily using the module as intended but to get the functionality and desired outcome I wanted this seemed like the way to go.

On the activity feed i did log in as someone else but no luck there either.

Do you think this might be something I post for the Activity feed gurus?

Yeah you can try it, make sure to reference this issue but it could be a problem on the Activity side.
