I have FedEx and UPS quotes running. With FedEx enabled, the quotes take 10 - 15 seconds to fetch. Without it, the UPS quotes take 1 - 2 seconds to fetch.

Has anyone else had an issue with the time it takes to fetch a FedEx quote?

I don't see that there's anything I can do about this - if the web service is slow for you that's a network or server issue on your end. UPS is using an HTTP POST while FedEx uses SOAP, so that may help you in narrowing down where the problem lies.

I am also facing the same issue while loading shipping quote in my environment. It take more than 20 secs to load shipping quotes with FedEx Module. Please share the ways to improve the shipping quote ajax speed.

Maybe there is a way to at least limit the requests of cache them for even a short period?
