I need some roles to be validated on signup and others to be accepted automaticly

I've already modified user.module, At least until I create modules with hooks, but time is an issue with my current project. So i wont mind if you have a user.module hack to help me out... until such a feature can be made available through the module.

Other then that... Role Signup module works very very well.

Won't provide any type of core hacks, but I'll get this functionality integrated into the module.

Can you clarify what you mean by validate? Are you asking for certain roles made available to the user automatically be placed into an administrative queue for approval while other roles can allow the normal signup to complete?
