Can we have a feature (similar to Gmail's chat) that play a "ding" sound when a new message is typed in the chatbox?

I am not convinced this is useful for shoutbox. I will re-consider it if more people want it.

I need it too. Some sound and/or title changing when new message appears - just some notification.

my users want it, too.
see for example chat in googlemail. has some sound too.

I want one too. It would make the module a simple communicating tool for people who are at the same time online.
