Either I'm not configuring the module properly (likely), or there is a critical functionality missing in the admin settings for this module.

I need the simplest possible interface for my end users. A button to browse to their video and upload it without having to input file sizes, times, sizes and all the rest. A "K.I.S.S." interface, if you will. Ideally, a single setting in the configuration that will set everything automatically.

I've tried the simplest possible interface for the module, but it refuses to upload the video file, stating that I must specify a file size (there is no option for this in that particular configuration).

The upload page also states a 2MB file size limit, but I can find no setting that allows the site admin to override and set a larger (or smaller) limit. This would, in my humble opinion, be a very useful addition to the configuration.

Thought a screen cap of the error message would help. Note that this was the response to originally browsing to the file and putting the required dimensions and times in. The error message removes the reference to the browsed to file. But, as you can see from the error message, you have to insert a valid file size, despite the fact that there is no place to do so.

i thoroughly agree. users should just upload the file; the computer ought to be smart enough to determine its size, as well as its resolution and play time. users simply do not know the answers to these questions, nor should they have to.

I agree - file size etc. should be determined automatically; it is great to have these options for the admin, but not for the average user!

Have you tried ffmpeg?

I thought ffmpeg was for converting video, not actually an interface for uploading it?

It's both, give it a try, you'll be surprised :)

In my environment ffmpeg "Enable resolution helper" and "Enable playtime helper" are checked, which omits size & length from the upload interface, and automatically present these parameters.

Thanks for the recommendation! That would basically mean installing OpenPackage Video; I might give it a try, but I still hope that Video could have some of the same functionality (as discussed in the original posting).
