The base forum module does not appear to have a facility where the user can be automatically be emailed when someone posts a reply. IMHO, this is a key feature of any forum.
How do I best implement this with Drupal? Some options that i have considered are:
1. Using the Subscription module - but this only works for 4.7 (not 5). Also it still would not allow a person to be emailed about just one thread, would it?
2. Getting someone to help me write a modification to the basic forum module to allow people to be emailed a comment
3. Loading on another BB software eg UIEforum or VBulletin. However my reading of people's comments is that it would not integrate into Drupal as well - is this correct?
4. A better idea????
What is your opinion of the best route forward to implement this key feature?
