Certainly.
#900220: How to integrate a new editor has technical details on how to build an editor implementation.
We, maintainers, do not have the time or resources to dig into this at this, so I hope you don't mind if I mark this postponed for now.

However, everyone are still welcome to build patches or implement editor support via Wysiwyg's API from other modules if they are willing to do so. If enough interest and support exists, maybe we can integrate it with Wysiwyg.
