Please explain why you would want to use Phone Number vs Phone. Are there others? Why? Users should be able to see comparisons or directions to related modules.

cck_phone was created after this module was created. There's already a decent comparison on the cck_phone page. Eventually, I'll reach out to the maintainer of cck_phone and try to start merging the modules, but right now, I don't have the bandwidth for that.
