The new 'my maps' feature at maps.google.com is pretty impressive, and I'm afraid to say that their map generation code is some way ahead of the macro available for use with this module [but then again, they have infinite resources].
So what better to do than hijack this map generator!
One feature that is missing from the current google offering, is the ability to embed the map into your own page, in the same way that youtube/flickr allow you.
You can get something at
http://www.mymapsplus.com
where you take the KML output/permalink for a map, and it provides you with emded code.
I reckon the gmap module could do a better job, as you wouldn't have to go get extra scripts ala www.mymapsplus.com.
So what I'm suggesting is replacing the GMap macro creator, with the ability to paste a permalink URL of a google map, that will generate macro code allowing me to embed a map in a node.
Keep up the good work,
Regards
Alan

pshadow commentedsounds like a cool idea. I'm as well trying to get maps into a node. more for routes I've done. Having issues with plotting lines in Macro tool.

bdragon commentedA) It's impossible to integrate this into gmap.
B) Google added embeddable maps. More information.
