Now that much attention is given to responsive and user friendly younger brother Adaptive Themes, is Genesis going to live, maintained or is it going to give up and fade?

The faith is quite important to those that plan to develop their themes based on Genesis so is it going to be maintained and improved over time?

The love lives long, lol. I actually use this theme quite a bit for private commercial jobs, since its pretty bare bones compared to the heavy weight starter themes.

So yes, I will be maintaining it for a long time to come yet.

Nice to hear that :)

I was looking for bare bones starter theme that slims the fat from [page, code, css] that is HTML5 and nice structured. I'm not into end user rich theme like Adaptive theme and I admit I do like slimming themes like Mothership, however, they add to complexity and sometimes it just isn't worth the effort.

I see that Genesis is still in 1.x branch which is not HTML5 and 2.x is still in dev and didn't receive any update in 6 months, hence my question on love.

Have you been considering LESS for styles for Genesis?

Support for "Responsive" is also crucial.

Jeff, how much would it cost to bring 7.x up to responsive with html 5? Also how much do you think it would cost to port it (with responsive) to drupal 8?
