Use update status for Drupal Metrics.

I would love to see update status be used for quality metrics within the drupal community. Basically update status would just report to drupal.org which modules are being used on websites, that way users could see what modules are popular and things would be automated. You could almost think of it as number of video views on Youtube as opposed to a rating system. It would be something that would be inferred and could be a way to figure out what direction drupal is going and where resources need to be directed, as well as possible additions to drupal core.
