Above Sidebar region not working

Hi,

Is it possible both of your left sidebar and right sidebar regions are also not showing?

The Above sidebar region only shows if at least one of these is visible.

Any chance that this could be changed so that the above sidebar region shows up under more circumstances?

It is easy to hide blocks via the ui if they are not wanted.

Hmmm ... I think it'd be unlikely. Since the width of the above sidebar region depends on the sidebar regions ... I don't see how to have the above sidebar region appear if both sidebar regions are not visible ... in a consistent and intuitive way.

I'd listen to suggestions though.

I had been thinking of it in the sense that anything that you put in the "above sidebar" region would always be the width of both sidebars combined.

But I agree that too, is not ideal.

That is exactly what happens.

However, if both sidebars are not visible, then the 'width of both sidebars combined' is zero, so the 'above sidebar' region also has a width of zero.

I explained that badly:

Unfortunately, that's not the case. The 'above sidebar' region only shows if there is a block in it, and if the left or right sidebar is also visible.

What you're asking for is a change in behaviour ... and I'm reluctant to spend time on it.

I made the comment #7 in the knowledge that it would be a change in behaviour.

But with a lot of thinking and trialling, I'm actually in favour of it as is now - the reason is that if you arrange the blocks correctly, this figures itself out. And you need to arrange the blocks cleverly to avoid it looking odd.

Please bear with me, I'm looking to use this theme for one of my sites, and there are a number of changes that I may propose in this queue. Trying to judge whether it is better to put them in a custom sub theme or contribute them back here.
