It would be really neat if, as part of the add content and add/edit pane configuration screen it would show a live preview of the content. This would probably require some sort of AJAX callback to get the markup and likely an iFrame container to render it, but would be a neat way to WYSIWYG the layout/content experience.

Letharion commentedWhile the preview functionality has been broken for a little while, it should be fixed, and it seems to me like this functionality would be mostly redundant in that case?
If you don't need a context, then you can already do this with preview, and if you do need a context, then what you describe would quickly turn into the preview.

This is to have individual panes have previews during the add dialog.
This is something that's currently in Panopoly.

populist commentedI am going to close this issue since (a) I already added it to Panopoly and (b) this is a lot harder problem than I originally thought and might not be helpful for a more general tool like Panels.
