Dear Drupal Community,
We would like to thank all of those who came forward and offered invaluable advice regarding our website nightmare. We spent 15 months working with a website developer to develop our new site only to discover they had very little Drupal knowledge and built us a site that quite frankly is so badly constructed that our only course of action is to completely rebuild the site.
As a small start-up rebel, underdog brand, this has been a major blow to our company. We are not a cash rich company by any means though we are doing well by growing organically. We have thrown ourselves onto our knees begging for the mercy of the Drupal Community looking for a hero company to come along in their shining armour on a big white horse to save us from the website experience from hell.
Many members have advised us, helped calm our fears and helped us shape the RFP for our new website.
The partners of GreenGraffiti® are from the ad world and though we understand the value of the internet we are not website specialists. However, we are open minded and quick learners.
The current site has been looked at by several Drupal professionals and audited officially by two. The conclusion is that it would be easier, less expensive and smarter to simply start from scratch - Ouch! That said, we have decided to take their advice and put out this RFP for a completely new site.
The RFP is very thorough perhaps "over the top" but what we learned from our last website experience is that clarity is very important, setting proper expectations key and defining what we want is helpful as long as we remain open to working with a partner who will help us realize there is a difference between what we want and what we really need.
In the RFP, you will see "(nice to have)" by several features. These are things we may have to delay until a later date. What is important now is that we get a very solid foundation up and running as quickly as possible so that we can move forward with our business.
We are open to your suggestions, your advice, your critique of our brief/RFP.
We would like to stress that we are a small start-up who spent more then we should for the site we will now abandon. Though price is not the determining factor due to our cash flow it will play a big role.
If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them quickly.

It's definitely a very comprehensive RFP. I'm curious, are you open to freelancers for this project as well, or only agencies?

Hey GreenBowes
Thanks for this message. I am a client developing a start up and a newbie to the process. I would like to review your RFP for learning purposes, but when I follow the link I get a 404 error on Dropbox. Not sure if this an ongoing issue. Can you check your link? Thanks.
