It would be great to be able to create views to rank pages according to their votes. You would need to be able to sort on votes and display the vote counter as a field.

I don't get this? The views are supported by drupalit. You can sort on votes and display the votes as a field. Maybe you should try the latest version.

Maybe you should install the update status module, so you will know when a new version of a module is available.
