Attempt to call list_verified_email_addresses() on a non-object when visiting STS configuration page

Issue Summary

Nothing configured yet, no API key put in, so that might be it, but on clicking the /admin/config/services/mailchimp/sts tab i receive white screen with:

Fatal error: Call to a member function list_verified_email_addresses() on a non-object in /home/ben/code/anjali7/web/sites/all/modules/contrib/mailchimp/modules/mailchimp_sts/mailchimp_sts.admin.inc on line 12

Also experiencing this issue. Using Drupal 7.12. Setting to major because that entire part of the module is unusable for at least a few users.
