I'd like to see the option of automatically inserting a link to the original node so that a sort of history of the clone(s) could be traced backwards. This could be a checkbox in the configuration options for the module.

I think the most sensible thing is simply to store this as a log message for the initial revision.

Feel free to submit a patch to this effect.

The site I am building is an open source fiction community. I'd like to encourage derivative work (or perhaps more accurately "node evolution"). I'm just as interested, or perhaps more, in seeing how one node influenced the creation of a new node (via a link) as I am seeing versions of a single node (in its log).

Does that make sense?
