I'm trying to display the count of new posts on my app's bookmark/dashboard. I have read some documentation on doing this here but I am not very advanced in this department (which is why I rely on drupal). I have searched high and low for a solution so I truly apologize if I have missed something obvious. Could someone please give me some idea how to implement an app-generated request to accomplish this within drupal?

Unfortunately the only code in the module is fb_friend.module, and that's now quite out of date. Facebook dropped support for the older way of doing things some weeks ago. Haven't had time to upgrade it, yet.
