Nothing shows up in the logs, I just get a 500 error when trying to preview the template. Let me know if I can provide more information.

Might be a duplicate of #1323422: "Call to undefined function language_initialize()" when previewing mail edit for subscriptions.

Running Subscriptions without comment.module is pretty exotic and has received just about no testing.

It is a configuration that I do want to support but that neither I nor anyone else (obviously) has ever tried out. Please mention that 'quirk' on your site whenever you report an issue.

Fixed in the -dev version (give it up to 12h to be repackaged).

I confirmed this works. Trying to get an acceptable template without being able to preview it was a chore. Thanks!
