Ported

http://drupal.org/node/871238 to the 7.x branch. Patch attached.

Known issues:

  • Code will fail if current user does not belong to an OG and OGs are used for chat buddy lists. Appears to be bug in original code.

I don't have time or the use case to fix that bug atm, but I put it on my own task list for when I do get some free time.

Does Drupal chat already support Organic groups?

I am not able to see group members in same chat when chat settings are:
"Normal AJAX" and "relationship method" is "Organic Groups module"

jukka792: I don't think anyone has looked at this since I put out he first patch. Unfortunately I don't have the free time to revisit this issue, but would love to hear if you are able to make any progress.
