how do i use pathauto for taxonomy_menu?

i've created a taxonomy_menu from my taxonomy/term. but i found the pathauto module only auto generates alias for taxonomy/term, but not for taxonomy_menu. anyone knows if it works for taxonomy_menu at all? do i have to manually do the alias?

i read in another post a lengthy process of running some code to manually update the ones that are currently in the table, but not sure if it would update any new ones as well.

any info you may have on this would be great.

I want to test it myself also.
Please tell me if the code works.

Update: I didn't use the code but used a .htaccess hack which is discussed here: http://drupal.org/node/121513
If there are pitfalls else than the one stated on that url, please tell me!
