Notifications and Views - want to send out an email message whenever new content of a certain type is posted

I've been trying various methods with no luck in trying to do something which should be simple.

Basically, I want Drupal to send a single email message to a particular address every time there is new content of a certain type.

I've created (using Views) a view that creates an RSS feed of that content.

But I also want that same view to be used to send out an email.

I set up Notifications, I have a User that should be sent these, but I can't figure out the steps from A to B here.

Can anyone help?
