It would be cool if there was a contrib module that used GeoIP technology to guess a person's Country, State/Provice, City, and Zip/Postal Code, if possible, by setting these as the default when filling out the form. Of course, the usefulness of this functionality would depend on the purpose of the form, but in my case when you are tracking the location of a user or something the user owns, it would provide all kinds of brownie points!

Feel free to make a patch. I've got a few other things ahead of this so won't be considering something like this for maybe a year. However, it's not a bad idea, so I'm marking this as postponed.

BTW, the zip code part is tricky because it changes yearly and free data sources aren't updated that often.

would be really usefull

I have a lot of directory listings
and people would want to know how to
get to the places
a google map would help
