It would be good if we could use the direct message functionality of the API to send and retrieve direct messages.

rooby commentedI'm confused as to why you would close a feature request issue when even you yourself have said patches are welcome.
It should be active until someone writes a patch. Unless you have no intention of ever adding the feature, in which case it should be marked as won't fix.

Untill this is implemented you could make a new twitter account with private twitter posts. Its in the twitter settings somewhere. google it
