Issue Summary
This module seems erratically maintained with issues not being replied / addressed for many weeks.
Also, the version 2.0 seems to me abandoned.
Mike, could you please advise us:
1. If you plan to consolidate the maintainership of this module in order to let it stay alive
2. if we shall stick on the mostly workable branch 1 or if we are encouraged to continue to investigate branch 2 and expect some progress toward a production version in a close future
I really appreciate Sunmailer in its concepts that perfectly fit my needs, I am sure it would be much more in use if adequately supported.

It's an open-source project done on the maintainer's spare times for no pay; sometimes maintainers can stay on top of their module with expert precision. Sometimes they end up with a feature (with a lot more customers) in their real-world job that goes awry, and they have to focus on that instead of their open-source projects.
In any case, I have no plans to give up ownership of this module. Most of the focus will be on the 6.x-2.x branch; if possible, I'd like to hit 6.x-2.0 before I head off to DrupalCon in Denver.
However, if there were a good time to be "inactive" on the module, the beta phase would certainly be one. Allowing the module to sit and bake will give everyone plenty of time to find all the bugs before the beta tag is stripped.

Thanks Mike, I am very glad you are still energized on this module.
It is really a great one, I enjoy it a lot even in 6.1.
When I'll have time, I'll switch to 6.2 as you seem to have fixed the embarrassing issues I faced
