Views Help

I am building my second e-commerce website on Drupal 7 and ubercart 3. I have spent many hours with my views 3.0 trying to get this correct.

Lets assume I have a store that has 2 sections. Caps and Shirts. Lets also assume I want the product pages to be output in the same manner i.e same fields, image styles and with one view (or panels and views). So I have my view setup and I have the fields setup and I am happy with how it is all formatted.

Se here are my questions:
A:) how do I affect that view on all products on my website without affecting other nodes
B:) how do I ensure that my view is pulling content only from the node/product being viewed (this one is more nb as I am also using views being pulled into panels that need only the info attached to the specific node the content is attached to - my problem is that it is pulling content from other nodes)

I only post to these forums when I really out of luck.

Any pointing in the right direction would be really appreciated. I have tried every argument(CONTEXTUAL FILTERS) and RELATIONSHIPS and clearly I do not know what I am doing.
