I'd like to suggest a view mode called 'compact'.
5 pixels of height at max containing the name, small icon (silk from famfamfam.com has some weather icons) and the temperature.
If people want more details they should click the section. This would allow pages like blogs to post their weather conditions without cluttering all their sidebar with "extra information".

g011um commentedI'll second that request.
Although I'd also like to see a "brief" view as well, with fewer fields displayed (smaller graphic, general condition, temperature, wind perhaps). I thought of putting in a feature request for a more configurable display, one that would let the admin (or the individual user) pick the fields to display, but the settings field in the weather_config table is fairly small (255 chars) so it may not be big enough. Although increasing that could be part of a patch/upgrade I guess.

adam_b commentedThis sounds like what I'd like for a particular client - although the icons and full details are really nice, they really just need the location name and current temperature displayed on most pages. It would be great to have a simplified block which could link to a page containing the full details.

Seconded.

Any further progress on this?

toddy commentedNo, not yet. I'd really like to introduce a template for the Weather module, so that admins can change the layout completely to their wishes. However, I currently lack the time to implement the templating mechanism.
