Is it possible to enable indexing by Google and other search engines to private content - so that teasers/abstracts appear in organic search results - yet still require logging in by visitors who wish to access the full material?

I've searched this site for such information but I haven't found much that relates to this question.

Thanks ...

May be it will be possible by using Google Sitemaps.

Thanks for the suggestion, but a Google Sitemap will not have sufficient granularity - it applies to pages as a whole, rather than sections of them. What I require is for a teaser to be made public (and indexed), with the body of the corresponding article to be kept private - available to subscribers only - but ideally also 'public' (indexed) in SE results. I would need to disable the SE cache in this case also, to prevent access to historical, private content.

Ref. this feature request:

"Dedicated teasers readable by anonymous, require access level to get to the rest of that content."
