Hi,
I need offer for upgrade Drupal5 to Drupal7 website. I have about 30 modules on my old site. I use template SKY.
I want to my comments from old site be visible, but on new site I want to enable Facebook comments.

Hi doktorrr,

Based upon what you've written, what you want will be expensive. Probably north of 5K, unless you're a non-profit.

But, that's not why I'm commenting, you'll need to provide a much greater detailed requirements list (use google for a template) for anyone to start to be able to come up with an amount to bid.

I only need upgrade from Drupal 5 to Drupal7 (database and core). I will change template and everything else. I have a lot of articles and comments on my website and I want to all of them still be present on my new Drupal 7 website with same web address (e.g. mysite.com/node/1234)

I will provide a tgz containing the old website and MySQl database.

Current site status:
Drupal 5 / updated on latest core version
Node count : about 6500
Main modules: Views, Panels, CCK, Webform, FCK editor, Ad module, Adsense module, Emmbed media field, Quotes, Scheduler, Captcha...

Okay,

Are you willing to create and configure, a complete , empty, D7 site first with all the modules, themes, forms, views, panels, fields, users, etc., etc.?

Writing and testing the script(s) to export and import articles and comments is about a day of work. If that's all you need, I'll bid $500. For that price, I'll need both the old (D5) and new (D7) .tgz's and .sql's. Any additional work outside of importing articles and comments, or changes needed due to you changing the D7 site*, is $75 / hour.

500 USD is too much for me. I can't earn this money from my site for one year. I can afford 100 USD top.

There is no direct path upgrade to D7 from D5. You need to upgrade to D6 first, then D7.

Yes, there is no direct path from D5 to D7, but upgrading through D6 is nuts and wastes inordinate amounts of time. It is simpler and quicker to write a script that reads the D5 data and injects it into the D7 site. Track some of my older posts for example code.

I agree. I have done a lot of upgrades from x to x. I tried upgrading 4 to 5, then 5 to 6, then 6 to 7. I eventually got to a point where I realized the same thing. It's MUCH easier to spend a few hours setting up a database import/upgrade script and importing it that way, saves countless hours and costs, depending on the size of the site.
