I have a setup with a content type "Group" which have a fieldcollection of "images". These "images" have a fieldcollection og repeatable tools with some properties.

When I edit "Group", extra fieldcollections is added to the UI for both levels. If I dont manually remove these extra empty fields they will be saved with Group.

This issue adds a huge overhead of "empty" fieldcollections which reduces my sites performance and stabillity.

I am not sure wether this i a UI/javascript issue or a configuration issue?

Just a +1, this is an issue for us for multiple potential builds at the moment.

A sample structure is:

Contact Information (field collection 1)

  • Name (normal field)
  • Email (normal field)
  • Phone Numbers (field collection 2):
    • Phone Number (normal field)
