I've set up a contextual filter that filters for the node id of a node that is referenced via a particular field using entity reference. The filter works when displaying the full node, via display suite, but when I display the nodes as teasers, in a simple view which filters for content type, the contextual filter returns an empty value.
I'd have thought that filtering for node id would work the same for the full display of the node as for the teaser display but it doesn't appear that way. Any clues?

I also was wondering this questions recently. If it can be solved, I will switch from using Panels to using DS.

You basically use the contextual filter and check "display all values for this field".

Then you use the Pane Argument: Content ID.
