For some reason, while logged in as admin the views are blank (title shows but no gallery) - logging out on the same page reveals the gallery, so only anonymous users are actually seeing the content... any ideas?

That sounds familiar. As far as I remember we had this bug once, but could never really figure out why it happened and I think it just fixed itself sometime :-D

I can't reproduce that bug and have no idea what could cause it, sorry :-/

Does that only happen when using the Views integration or on normal nodes with image fields too?

I am having a similar issue.
upon first loading the site under admin I can not view the slideshow. but after it loads once it works.
If I clear the cache it will not load again upon first load after the clear. then works fine again.
Seems to load ok as anonymous user load http://richardkiser.net
But then again, I have never loaded it first thing without being logged in... so IDK for sure.
