-google maps api key page (http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html)

It seems the gmap module requires an api key for it to work. And I have always been able to acquire one through that google api website. But now the website changed and is not providing an api key for it.

Any suggestions.. ?

I was stumped by this for a bit too. Google has a apis console now. you sign into with your gmail/google account. https://code.google.com/apis/console

i went to the console and got a new key. However, I now get this error: Google has disabled use of the Maps API for this application. The provided key is not a valid Google API Key, or it is not authorized for the Google Maps Javascript API v2 on this site. If you are the owner of this application, you can learn about obtaining a valid key here: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/v2/introductio...

even if I follow those steps and get yet another key, it throws this error.

OK. I fixed my problem. Make sure you have "Google Maps API v2" marked as on under Services. I only had v3 turned on which is why I kept getting errors.
