Hello!

Okay, I know I am new at this so I apologize in advance if this question seems ridiculous. However, I am getting overwhelmed and very confused with the different modules and terms. I'll explain what I'm trying to do, what I've done so far, and then if anyone knows what article I need to read next I'll happily read it.

I am using the Splendio theme and it's great. On one page, I need 3 columns in the body or content of the page. In each column, I need a vertical image gallery. Ideally it will be the sort of thing that has no visible captions, just a rectangular grid of thumbnails; then when one is selected, using Lightbox or a similar module, the photo is enlarged with a caption underneath, and arrows appear to go to previous or the next image within that gallery. This is to display photos taken from 3 sites, each with their own storyline/captions.

1) I don't understand how to get 3 columns or blocks into the body/content of the node.
I've tried adding a block to the region, set only for that node, but it doesn't seem to do anything and I don't understand how I can add content (the image gallery to it).

2) I don't understand how to create a gallery.
I was using Wordpress before and discovered Drupal when it was clear Wordpress was very very limited. But one thing I did understand better in Wordpress was uploading images into their own directories. I've installed Ctools, Views, Galleria, and several other modules, and read their documentation, but I'm honestly confused.

Getting the funky lightbox effect will be nice but right now I don't even know how to begin getting those 3 columns into the content of the page, especially because I need each one to be a functioning gallery slideshow. ANY advice or pointers toward an article about it would be incredibly helpful and endlessly appreciated. Thanks again.

Use minipanels for the 3 blocks in one (without styling). Then create a node type for gallery and put a imagefield in for that node type. Upload your photos to this node type then create a view showing the photos in a block in a grid then set the image display to show lightbox.

Thanks so much for your reply!!

I created the minipanels with a 3 column type, and then I created a content type called Photo Gallery and added an image field. When it comes to uploading, can I only upload one photo at a time? Or should I add several image fields, and thus, able to upload multiple images at once?

I'll put in a few images now and see if I can do the Views thing on my own before asking for more assistance. Thanks again!

The last step of what you described, setting the image display to show Lightbox, I'm not sure where that setting is. Under what menu will that be?
