I installed drupal. I plugged in the database name etc... I went to my root site and it forwarded me to ...install.php. I went to index.php and it worked fine. I made my first account and logged in and made some admin changes. But, when I go to my root site it still brings me to install.php and gives me this error message:

Drupal already installed

* To start over, you must empty your existing database.
* To install to a different database, edit the appropriate settings.php file in the sites folder.
* To upgrade an existing installation, proceed to the update script.

How do I stop drupal from sending the user to this page?

After you install Drupal, delete install.php. You don't need install.php anymore.
