Is it possible to upgrade from 4.6.x to 5.x?

I have done a quick search this afternoon but have not come up with anything specific that tells me this can be done nor have a I seen anything that says it cannot be done.
Would I need to upgrade from 4.6.x to 4.7.x then to 5.x?
We are running with CivicSpace 0.8.? as well.
Safer to Go 4.6->4.7->5.1
I originally tried going straight from 4.6 to 5.1 but just too many things didn't work: Taxonomy for Galleries, OG Access Control on nodes, etc.
So I went back and did 4.6->4.7->5.1.
The important part is to back up your database so you do have the option to go back.
4.6.5 -> 5.1
I tried it and it messed up everything that had to do with Taxonomy (e.g. categories) and images (from galleries to file permissions and file sizes). Next attempt 4.6.5 - 4.7 (fingers crossed)
