Sometimes there are links in stories, such as long URLs which make the 'related links' box get really wide, screwing up the design

Therefore it would be nice if the administrator could set the auto-discovery function to be optional

Good idea. I also added an option to trim link text. See v 1.1.2.4 of relatedlinks.module.

unfortunately when I installed the 1.1.2.4 script, I began getting this error:

warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /(some path)/drupal45/modules/relatedlinks.module:208) in /(some path)/drupal45/includes/file.inc on line 435.

I am using this module with 4.5.1 and haven't encountered an error. Could you give a little more context? It would also help if you created a new issue to track this bug.
