Product Auction Form

Has anyone had any luck using Renderable Elements module (or a similiar one) in conjunction with Ubercart Auction?

e.g: Merging vertical tabs (such as product information and auction settings) setting default expiration dates etc.

I have used product power tools, node form settings and browsed for hours w/o finding any others - but looking for someone who possibly knows of a tweaking module I don't know about that works with uc_auction. (making a custom module with hook_form_alter is way over my head)
