I've instsalled the GMap module but can't for the life of me work out how to build a gmap macro. Can anyone help?
In the administrator's panel it has the option 'Build a GMap macro' and has numerous default settings for various options which can be changed to suit, but nothing appears in the map id or address boxes and I don't know what to set these to? But there isn't a continue/go/do something|nothing box to click on to I don't know how to proceed.
Are there any docs on this module which explains how I should activate my choices?

yay
it's always fun to find someone else having the same problem as you, but only to click on it and find no one has responded!!!!!
alas, the search continues....
Its there
Look at the box under "Macro text:".
Thats the easy part, but where do I put it in the web site?

I also don't see this "box"
I don't see a submit box anywhere on the Build a GMap Macro page.
perhaps this is a bug?
There isn't a submit option
The macro gets updated as you make changes on the page.
Once you've configured the macro, you can cut and paste it into the GMap Locations
configuration.
I haven't gone beyond using it to display user locations.
how to do multiple macros
So i understand how to use the macro creator to generate a macro for the node locations or user locations, but I want to take it a step further.
I want to have multiple map views on my site linked together.
For example on the main page I want to show a map zoomed to fit the whole US with nodes representing cities to show up.
When you click on the city it takes you to a map zoomed to fit the city with nodes representing locations in the city.
I have figured out how to create a gmap page view using the views module and even filter it to only show certain node types.
I want to know how to do two things now.
1) get different icons to appear based on node type in the view.
2) find a way to link the front page view to each city view.
hopefully do this linking dynamically, i.e. not have to manually create a view for each city although I can do this if necessary.
Thanks for any help you can give!
this one works...
Old thread, but this one worked for me: http://gmap.chicagotech.org/map/macro
The other one here http://vsmith.info/map/macro did not.
neither worked for me, seems
neither worked for me, seems like this is almost part of the GMap module just that it doesn't output the textarea with the actual macro?
