Aside from that, this looks really interesting, though (I just heard dopry yesterday on IRC mention the idea of moving CCK's node cache in core...)

Do you think that this could be targetted for core (well not D6, probably...) ?

Good tip on the devel_caches.

My hope is that by packaging these patches for Drupal 5 (and later for Drupal 6), people will become more aware of them, test them, and come to consensus about approach and viability. For example, if you ask most people whether caching comments is desirable, you'll get very mixed responses. But if people use the patch here and it works well (or doesn't), then there will hopefully be a unified opinion.

One of the strong reasons for this module is to work in conjunction with the memcache project. Everything that the advcache caches will work seamlessly with memcache, too.
