Turning on the "Path prefix with language fallback" option on /admin/settings/language/configure breaks the "home" links in breadcrumb: <front> is tagged onto the end of the url, making it invalid. Original comment here.

AFAIK, this has been fixed by a patch quite some time ago. Please reopen if still applies.
