Hey, i would like to give users who dont have the permission to create or edit a node, the right to upload an attach Images. Would this be possible?

No. If they aren't allowed to edit the node, they shouldn't be allowed to change it in any way. What's to stop a user who is aggravated that they can't change it from uploading a porn pic.

nancyw, well if you're worried about that you shouldn't give them image attach permissions...

All of the links to "Dupe" items don't have a solution either.

I need to have it so that 1 user (with role A) can create a node and then user 2 (with role B) can add images to it. But unregistered and other roles will only be able to see it and not make updates.

Is this possible?

The patch committed in #72579: Image_attach granular permissions does not address this request.

An attached images tab for attaching images without editing the attaching node would be doable, but I think it's outside the scope of this module. You could do it as a separate project.

Closing as wontfix.
