Just a not for anyone who happens to come across this issue, the default Nginx configuration shipped with Aegir means that Radioactivity's emit.php will not be allowed to be accessed and therefore Radioactivity will not work.

A patch is available for Provision (Aegir) at #1463494: Radioactivity does not work with Nginx configuration.
