I haven't needed a Drupal 7 version of this module yet, and I haven't heard any requests for it. If you need this module for a Drupal 7 site, please post your request here. I will port it to Drupal 7 if enough people show interest.

I've been talking to Kyle about a D7 version of og_mailinglist, but until recently I wasn't very familiar with this module. There are some features on that module that I particularly like, although I'm mostly just interested in having a solution that can be easily provisioned and requires little in the way of active management. I'm not sure if it would be possible to get you guys working together on a single D7 solution...or maybe the two approaches are simply too different, I don't know. Just throwing it out there.

Well, this module is just a thin layer added to OG+Notifications+Mailhandler that allows that system to work without needing to use commands to direct it into the right group. I do think that Kyle's approach is too different, because it scraps the notifications-based system completely and implements its own system, which is why that module's tarball is over 60kb bigger than this one.

I will say this: I imagine that creating a D7 version of this module would be much, much easier than doing a D7 version of og_mailinglist. Since I see at least one person is interested (yay!), I'll go ahead and begin porting it.

Hello there,
I've been looking for a D7 version of a similar module too.
I have to implement the same system for a site to we'll put in production at the end of the week.
So i'll do with Notifications+Mailhandler but i'm subscribing for a D7 version

I'm running mail2og on a Drupal6-Site. It would be nice to have a D7 version when this site is going to be upgraded.

I would need the function mail to OG to. Is the d7 version under development. I can help with the development if needed.

I did not have the time (or need for a D7 version myself) to port this.

Now that D8 is out, I'm going to close this ticket to avoid giving false hope to someone that needs this functionality for D7/D8.

If anyone wants to take this over for D7/D8, please send me a direct message or reopen this ticket.

For now, it isn't going to happen. I simply never had the need myself for a D7 version and didn't have the time to do it without the personal need for it. Sorry to those that did need it.
