1. I've got latest release (5.x-1.22) with input filter enabled, so [slideshow expression] must be getting processed since the expression doesn't appear in the page, but neither does any slideshow (or error messages). I'm not using CCK (yet). I tried both img= and dir= simple variations. I had seen an older post here that raised question of whether this module is compatible with PHP 4.4 (which is what I have) but there wasn't a clear answer? (if PHP 5 is required, this should be stated in the module description; and I'll have to try something else)
2. also, the README file is a little unclear for dir -- it says "where:
DIR_IMAGE [required]: the slideshow filter version: currently 2"
though the example leads me to assume that it's really the directory path (not 2)
3. any plans to add a Random parameter for DIR. (along lines of what someone had done for earlier version: http://drupal.org/node/130730 but I understand that would need to be updated to work with newer versions of your module)?
thanks

brmassa commentedSteve,
0* thanks for reporting. lets work!
1* the module works with php 4.4. wel... try to copy the example tag i wrote on README.txt:
[slideshow: 2, rotate=2, blend=1, img=|http://drupal.org/themes/bluebeach/logos/drupal.org.png|drupal.org|Drupal|The ultimate CMS. Download it now!|Drupal|, img=|http://www.mysql.com/common/logos/mysql_100x52-64.gif|http://www.mysql.com|MySQL|Free and reliable SQL server and client.|_self|, dir=|files/|yes||Generic Photos|Arent they great?||]. its it doesnt work, report here again please.2* README.txt error: fixed on CVS. soon on the next release. module description on drupal.org also fixed.
3* Random feature: the issue you pointed the guy did by himself. im planning to create this feature soon.
best regards,
massa

saweyer commented0. thx for your quick response
1. I'm happy to report that your example worked fine (in Firefox, and clipped in Safari as I had seen mentioned elsewhere) -- I should have tried your ex. first. I'll go back and tweak my expression to get it working. I think I had left out rotate and blend. new dir= feature is nice. I assume I can use subdirs under files/. my understanding currently is that slideshow is always sequencing, but with a high enough value for rotate, user would think it's manual and then use (next / prev). i.e., there are no pause/resume buttons.
3. I look forward to random start in sequence
now, back to adding more slideshows!

stefanhapper commented1. How does this work? It's not clear how to specify the random order if using DIR feature.
2. Is there any way a random order could also be achieved WITHOUT using the DIR feature?
For my case just a possibility to have a random start (and then normal order) would already be sufficient - but full random order would be best. Any idea where I could look to maybe do this myself if it's not implemented in the module?

rhouse commentedThis is a standard jQuery option. It works regardless of the type of slideshow. Add:
random=1
to the slideshow options. The list of options is in the README.txt file, and they take the arguments specified by jQuery at:
