I'm still really excited about this module and looking forward to the first release. I'm creating this issue hoping that @muriqui can put an update in this issue when the first version — even if dev — is released. That will help prevent me from checking the project page every few days. Is that a possibility?

muriqui commentedSure, I can do that. You could also subscribe to the project release RSS at http://drupal.org/node/1379322/release/feed.

muriqui commentedIn progress. Wanted to release a dev in Q1, but other projects needed attention first, so new target is Q2. I now have three projects dependent on this module, so I expect the pace of development will pick up in the next few weeks. Will post updates as things move forward.

muriqui commentedWe may have a dev release ready as early as next week. It will be largely untested at that point and certainly not supported or ready for production use, but functional enough to start playing with.

MacRonin commentedThanks for the good news.
Plus updating title so it's more friendly on the dashboard

muriqui commentedDevelopment release has been posted. Lots of things are still missing (like control of menu items and terms, several hook implementations, some important UI stuff, documentation), but it's functional enough to control node access with it. Largely untested at this point, completely unsupported, don't put it into production, etc., etc., but feel free to play with it as it grows.
I'm going to close this thread now, since you can just watch the repository viewer or follow the release RSS feed to track progress. I'll do an alpha release once I'm ready for people to start testing... No solid date on when, but since I'm driving a few major client sites off of it, I expect that'll happen later this summer.
